I find a regulated psu is not necessary for a class E amp but a very stiff
generously rated supply is needed with plenty of C to avoid DROOP
In my case I have 24000 mfd and a transformer that supplies at least twice
the current that I need.
It is more convenient to go for a high voltage and low current psu, ie 20 -
50v at a few amps rather than 12 at big amps.
Class C tube amps are another approach because the psu is more manageable ie
3000v at a few milliamps and physically small if you are content with a 50%
duty cycle. A good C design is abt 70% efficient
