Kevlar straps are used within high voltage insulators (to make them fail
safe)
However these large insulators are oil filled to protect the kevlar from RF
burning.
ISTR that the kevlar is also damaged by UV.

Parafil rope is extensively used to stabilise T aerials etc, but I suspect
it will be expensive ?

Looking to replace the guy ropes on my vertical mast , the blue polyprop is
showing signs of over exposure to the sun and starting to fray

I'm wondering if the 'kevlar' type of ropes would be suited, as the mast is
a radiating element ?

But as far as I know, the rope conducts electrically, which would not be a
good material to have in the saturation field of the element

How conductive is the 'rope' ? is it just a leakage or a full low ohm
situation ?

Tnx - G ..
