I run a TS-930. It has a 9.9kc RIT which seems quite a bit to me but covers our US band pretty well. Take out the MF attenuator if you have a schematic handy. Kenwood usually puts in 3 resistors, 150 ohm & two 33 ohm resistors in the 500-1600kc receiver input filter. Real easy to find on the schematic.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for the info - the trick works on the TS-690 too, but the RIT range is only +/- 1.1 kHz. So my "sensitive" RX range ends at 501.1 kHz.  Mal was some 900 Hertz higher .

I'll build a selective preamplifier for this band soon, to give the deaf RX what it needs ;-)
