Bill, Jay and John, Thanks for the reports. This is encouraging -- at least the sigs are getting out a bit. No trace on the VE7TIL grabber, but VY1JA was quite clear there. There is now a pair of spider wound Litz tuning coils in the shed to replace the pvc insulated 2mm cu coils. Sadly, there was only a marginal increase in the aerial current (now about 4 amps). Running about 1-1.2 kW DC input tonight and looking RU6LA and ZM2E and hoping Alan G3NYK can improve the ionosphere. 73 Joe VO1NA |
