There's no PDF file anywhere with this version 2.2, but in that subdirectory I found a lot of   .CMH files (compiled html) that can be read on their own without having to have the software up-and-running.

I'll try importing these into word and generating a huge .doc

When will software writers finally realise on-line help is not always what people want?

Hi Andy

Look in

C:\program files\Ansoft\Designer SV\Help

and there is a  getstart.pdf  that I used a couple of years ago to get going - took a bit of finding but its there. I agree, I prefer a printout to a screen and tabs !

I'll download version 2.2 at somestage and see what the diferences are.

regards

Yes, found it there.  But I still much prefer a separate .PDF  file to print out and read at leisure instead of being forced to look at the screen all the time and click on millions of hyperlinks.   Paper is a wonderful medium for reading things from, and easier to study sitting in a comfortable armchair  with feet up on a table.
