The Southern Aurora was seen in Austraila and New Zealand and was seen in the northern hemisphere as far south as the north central states this side of the pond. It is is still visible this morning in Yukon.

The level scale goes only to 10 and it had reached a 9 when reported to the group last night (PST). Personal observations at MF and HF have shown the E-W propagation dies and that the N-S path still functions but deteriorates as location approaches or is under the Auroral halo. Often this deterioration is shown as one-way propagation with the northern station being the better receiving station than the southern. I would be interested in knowing if this phenomena repeats at LF.

Is there a tendency to loose E-W propagation on LF during an Aurora?
Is there also a tendency (recorded) for one-way, for equal stations on a north-south path to have a disparity between received signals, and if so is the northern station usually the one which seems to have its propagation impared for transmission while its reception is not impared as much?

Are there LF stations in EU above 60 degrees latitude with operators who will verify or dismiss these observations?
