I've got one as well and anything over a 2m rod drives it into intermod. If you want it for 136 you'll need a fairly decent bandpass filter in front, the narrower the better.

Hi Jo
The Datong converter I had had a PP3 9volt battery installed. It was
originally intended for listening to BC stations on an amateur rig at 28MHz.
I think it is notionally 10kHz to 500kHz ...there is a LP filter in the
antenna. There is a circuit diagram on one of my web pages....the direct URL
is
http://www.btinternet.com/~alan.melia/loscprob.htm#Datong%20VLF%20Converter

It does not like to work from a big antenna and may need some attenuation to
avoid IMD products.

Cheers de Alan G3NYK

Greetings all,

I've found an old DATONG VLF converter without manual. Does somebody know
the supply voltage and frequency range?
