Maybe others may be interested in Paul's 480kc CW beacon. 100w output into
30' vertical with tophat. Heard all over the USA so far.

Subject: [500kc] RW Beacon on Timer
i found this cool rad hard timer in my junk box.
It will key
the RW Beacon (WA2XRM) on every 30 minutes (##00 and ##30) for 1
minute. i
will set it for 0000z to 0700z.
It is not synchronized with WWVB but it is
very close.
The RW Beacon CW ID is still at 20 wpm.
i don't want to
run it all the time because it causes a little noise on other
bands locally
and i don't want to blow it up. The DX-100 wasn't really
designed for
continious duty (but it is Rad Hard) . It is amazing that those 1955 HV
aluminum capacitors are still good.
This is not just a night time band,
John, K0JO, has copied my signals at my
Noon
in MN (750 Miles).
Please
send me your SWL reports...
i need WAS and want to get across the pond
too.
