Dear Mal, LF Group,
Yes, that sounds like it. At your QTH, you are considerably further from
Rugby and Lessay than stations in SE England, so I would expect the noise
level to be considerably lower than it is here. Also, both stations are in
roughly the same direction, approximately south from you, so your loop
should do a pretty good job of nulling both Lorans. Here, the bearings
differ by about 100degrees, roughly NW and SW, so the more complicated
noise-cancelling system that I have mentioned before, that phases together a
loop and a vertical to get two "steerable" nulls is needed. This is doing
quite a good job for stations in directions from 0 to 180 degrees from here,
but of course gives a fair amount of cancellation of any wanted signals
arriving from the west.
Cheers, Jim Moritz

Hi Jim.
This past while I have been getting some qrm on 136 especially on my
Vertical antenna being omni, I suspect it must be the Rugby transmitter. I
am getting strong lines spaced at 7.4 hz. It is barely visible on my loop
which is broadside to Rugby and the South. It also sounds like a ckicking
noise. Is this the Rughy qrm that those in the midlands and south are
suffering from?
