Carbon fibre and LF verticals DON'T mix... ZZZZZaaaapppp, crackle, SSSSnnnnaaaapppp.... Hmmm, the SWR sees odd...
 
Lucky for me a good friend dropped by shortly after sunset and we repaired the antenna by replacing the carbon fibre pole with an equal length AL one.  Now to do a post mortem... First indications in the dark reveal arc damage and a structural failure as a result...
 
TIL is back on as of 0445UTC in DXsine mode...QRSS120 slow
