I've recently modified the XKO antenna with an idea I got from ON7YD's antenna page:

http://www.qsl.net/on7yd/136ant.htm#Tower

Rik's page has a link to a patent number on this design but the link doesn't direct me to the patent. However I found the patent info here:

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=3,984,839.WKU.&OS=PN/3,984,839&RS=PN/3,984,839

This design is suppose to cancel the effects of a grounded tower when it is located close to the vertical antenna. The antenna matches very well with the method used in the attached sketch. However I wonder if this is a proper way to put this idea to use. I'm wide open for any comments or suggestions. I don't claim to know what I am doing but there's no question that I'm having fun doing it!
