David, regarding a notch filter at the TX site - at 36% frequency offset this should be quite feasible, even though the design would probably have to be tweaked carefully to preserve the shape of the rising pulse edge, in the presence of reflections both from the antenna and the transmitter output stage. Some of these effects could possibly be compensated by predistorting the driving waveform - looks like an interesting engineering exercise. Have such filters been implemented at Loran sites before, perhaps to protect other services?
