Ive been following the antennae (dipole and monopole) deploy issues on the
MARS Explorer with interest, more to do with the frequency range for the
sound profiling radar to be used given they are looking to get data back
from a number of Kms beneath Mars surface. But I spotted that they will/may
try to use the sounder mainly in the low Mhz range possibly down to 100Khz
and was more interested in the matching of the "dipole" at this sort of
frequency given past issues with short dipoles close to earth/"earth" at LF
and would be interested in the matching circuit/efficiency more for pure
physics than for practical apps in free space. Anyway I offer the following:
