Mal,
The book I have ever seen on the subject is
    Solid State Radio Engineering
by Herbert Krauss, Charles Bostian and Frederick Raab,
published in 1980 by
John Wiley and Sons NY Chichester Brisbane Toronto Singapore
   ISBN 0-471-03018-X

Hope this helps.

Dear Alan,
my postings to Blacksheep don't seem to make it, these days :-(
(Possibly Verizon, my ISP, is considered by Blacksheep as a spam conduit?)
Could I ask you to kindly re-post this msg. to the RSGB reflector, as
the subject may be of interest to others in the LF group?

Thanks in advance and 73
