Am I correct in assuming that I can't attach .bmp photos to the
group E-mails ?

Dear Chris,

You can add attachments, but only up to about 20 - 30kB - any bigger and the
reflector rejects them. The format makes a difference to the file size -
.bmp images are usually bigger than .gif or .jpg format, depending on what
the image is and how compressed it is.
