Hello Walter,I wouldn't hesitate and drop some wires in the well before it is filled. You can use it in combination with other ground systems. 73, Rik Citeren Walter Blanchard <[email protected]>: Here's another oddity. Next to my patch there's a 150ft (50m) deep well that has dried up and the owner now intends to fill it in. He doesn't mind me dropping a few copperwires down it before he does so. Question: is this a better use of 400 ftof copper wire for earthing purposes than simply spreading it out along the ground as radials in the traditional way? Re the tower - use a decent crossbow and you'll get over the top no trouble. I have a 200lb draw one that I once used to put a wire over a 50m mast and it could have gone much higher.
