Hallo Rich,
are the light bulbs in use at daytime, when you intend to work? How
about disconnecting them at the choke?

Hi LF-ers...

Here is a small story from our expedition. At 1400 local time we were on
site. WX was good and we start tuning the antenna. Receiving problems has
been solved very quickly and we heard DFC39 extremly strong, the same SVX.
But after we key the TX, we found problem. It was realy problem to tune
antenna. I don't know why. We tried to do it until 2200 local time with 3
coils and 3 variometers from 200uH until 2mH and still nothing. We called
to
Peter OK1FIG and Bob OK2BVG for the help, but still nothing. We measure
some
current, but very very low. I was absolutely sad. We have now a possibility
to operate from this site for some days during the daytime. We will try tu
tune the antenna with your help, if anybody can help me. I'll be very
happy.
I'll give you all necessary datas:

Vertical is 135m high with 170cm in diameter (no cap hat), there are 120
radials in range from the base and 50m, after that are 240 radials between
range 50-130m. Each radial is from 6mm Cu wire about 30cm under the ground
level. Ground conductivity is 14,3mS.

Best regards...enjoy LF...
