Hello all,

I am rather new on this list, and will give a brief introduction.

Living in the eastern part of The Netherlands, and being involoved in
radio for over 25 years now.
Licensed since 1989, first as PA3FJY but changed this a few years ago
to PA4VHF.
As the suffix suggests I was mostly active on 144MHz DX (EME, MS)
contest etc.
Also did a lot of listening mainly on 160m CW in the past.
Since my move to another house my transmission activety has been
very low, and I mainly listened a lot from my remote beverage location.
(no mainspower-220V there, so all by battery)

However, like so many others, when one gets the 'radiovirus', one will
never loose it.
In the past year I came across the NDB-beacon band (200-500kHz) ,
and had great fun listening there.
Distances amazed me more then once.
Well, from there it's just a little jump down to 136kHz.................

Meanwhile I have serious plans to become QRV on 136kHz the coming year.
A lot of information, and some materials as well, have been collected.
(like 31.5cm diameter PVC-pipe for the loading coils)
I hope to start with the first preparations soon.

One of the problems to overcome, is to find a QTH where I have mainspower
to feed the PA.............
I have no idea what happens when one feeds 400W into an toploaded
vertical á la EI0CF in the center of town........................
(a lot of houses within the range of the antenna, some less then 15m
away...)

Sofar I haven't seen any reports of interference caused by 136kHz stations
to consumers electronic devices.
Wonder how serious is the possibility of interfering in audio-equipement in
the
neighbourhood??

As soon as I am ready to transmit I'll let it know here right away.
At least my receiving capabilities on my beverage location are good.
(AR7030plus, with audiofilters down to 20Hz narrow)

Dick, PA4VHF (JO32eh) East-Netherlands.
