John,

what do you mean by "capture" ?

If you want to copy diagrams from the screen and paste them to a graphic format (BMP, GIF, JPG ...) it's rather easy :
* press "control"+"PrintScreen"
* open any graphic software (eg. Paint)
* press "control"+"V", now you have the entire screen as picture
* use the cut and/or copy function to get that part you need and save it

If you want to draw circuit diagram or design PCB's I can recommend Eagle from CadSoft.
They have a powerful freeware version :

May I have suggestions, please, on a suitable software package to capture
circuit diagrams. At the moment I'm using CorelDRAW and very powerful it is
but I am looking for something that will take me rather less time.
