Hi all, Laurence KL1X is reporting that the path to Europe is improving now
and he is hearing DCF39 at audible levels again. CFH has improved here over
the last few nights, so I guess we are on the "upslope". Bearing in mind
Laurence has only a few more weeks active from Anchorage, it could be a good
time to start a "campaign" to crack that route on 136. Laurence has an ARGO
window open on 135.92 ish, and is transmitting a "non-amateur" FCC Part 5
beacon signal on 137.77355. ( not seen yet here ) A qso is not possible but
reception both ways would be the next best thing. Calsign is WD2XDW

Joe VO1NA was active again last night and was providing good QRSS20 signals
on 137.777 right up until about 0900z this morning.....Joe will also listen
down at the 135.922 end I believe.

Mitch VE3OT is also on-air again, running a Part 5 beacon "MP" from London
Ontario on 137.7798

Another difficult one is Eric (near to where Laurence will be moving ) on
Oklahoma with a 400 W beacon WD2XFX on 137.78077.....I think Eric may still
be off air just now with Corona-burn on his aerial insulation. Eric has not
yet been heard by Joe, who is on his GC path to the UK.

Hopefully now the sudden solar "flare-up" seems to have died away, and
geomagnetic activity has quietened, we might see conditions improve to the
point of success with some at least of there routes. Joe has already worked
Jim two-way.....and is visible almost regardless of the conditions, with a
"window" of almost 12 hours now. Really good conditions could produce the
first manual morse T/A qso !!

Good Hunting !! ....its not illegal yet!!
Cheers de Alan G3NYK
