Dear all,

It was a nice evening - three new countries worked:

22:28z RU6LA 1383km M/O @3s dots
22:46z & 23:41 YU7AR 704km O/O @3s dots
01:00z M0BMU 1467km M/M @10s dots

Dear Marek, LF Group,

Very pleased to have a QSO with SP5ZCC and Poland for the first time on LF -
it was a bit of a struggle with high QRN levels at the start of the QSO, but
the SNR picked up later around 0100z. The drift was also a bit of a problem
because it "stretched" the characters out vertically, making it hard to tell
dots and dashes apart visually. But in the end copy was quite good.

TX here was 1200W from a "Decca" PA to a 9m high, 40m long inverted L,
giving about 5A antenna current and 400mW ERP. RX was Racal RA1792 with loop
antenna and Spectrum Lab.

Also visible while this was going on were RU6LA, YU7AR, OH5UFO DJ8WX and
others, so quite a lot of activity.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
