Hi Hugh,

The "pot-core" was a very characteristic name for former round ferrite types
18 x11, 26 x 16 etc. Because of  "butterfly" style of R and RM cores it is
better not to call them as pot-cores.  Siemens , Philips and other
manufactures talk then only about RM- core not pot-cores.

While pondering a filter design and playing with a pot core type
inductor...
RM6 / RM10 etc.
I wondered: "Why is it called a pot core - it doesn't look much like a pot
?"
Anyone know how the pot-core got it's name ?
Silly, I know, but one does like to know these things ...
