Hi Mal,

sorry to correct you but '3JP was "Matt Mulcahy", not McCaughey. "The wee
besom man from Tyrone" when he was broadcasting on BBC, and in real life
the manager of Augher Creamery and named Wilson Guy.
As he himself would say, " Ah mind hum well on thon wireless".
The less said about Dean Swift the better. A real tortured man, and didn't
even have the excuse of being a radio amateur. Your spelling of Gulliver
is
a novel one, may I suggest you put a drop more water in it!

Keep the faith,

Ian.
I knew you would know those above intimately because of the common Rhetoric.
They all performed long before my time and I was not sure of the names. I
was not sure if it was Mc Ilhatton on Mc Ketchey but you are probably right.
Swift, so they say sent the first smoke signals between Tullywiggan bridge
and Loughry to warn the salmon poachers that the bailiff was in persuit,
early signalling, and something in common with some on LF. Not so long ago
there was a mention in a comic about 73 and 136 khz, only being able to
cover hundreds of yards, even Swift was doing better than that with
smoke!!!!!!!!!
Matt Mc Mulcahy and the wife Mary Jane appeared in Cookstown at a concert
years ago and they had an old uncle called Kyle from Ballymena, somewhere up
country in Antrim, would that be you by any chance? the play was something
to do with a battery charger.
I was over there recently for a couple of weeks and how things are changing,
could'nt find a wet battery for the wireless to tune in Matt and the wife.
