Only indirectly related but the North East/South West trans Atlantic paths
between Uk and Antarctica  (6734S 6808W) in Northern Hem winter times
1979/80  (same sort of flux as now?) produced near nightly reception of
Capital (ol?) Radio from London on 1.548MHz .... Good enough to pipe thru
to our small bar at Rothera Base, Adelaide Island. around our local
midnight 0300-0500Z - around 16,000 Km most sea path.
