Though I missed the QSO between IK5ZPV and RU6LWZ (-congrats!-), it was an impressive display on the waterfall screen on sunday and a 'very effective use of bandwidth' around 137.700, with half a dozen stations calling, separated by about 3..5 Hz, all visible.
Seen and mostly heard during the evening, roughly ordered by 'visual' signal strength: DL3FDO, PA0BWL, DF6NM, M0BMU, OM2TW, IK5ZPV, IK2DED, OH5UFO; and -of course- RU6LA / RU6LWZ about the same strength as IK5ZPV. In the pileup, it was nice to see that every of the above stations used an individual frequency, so no problem... a big difference to most pileups on shortwave. I gave up after midnight when the Easter fire at the club had burned out, seeing that even M0BMU and OM2TW got no reply though using 'slower' QRSS. Thanks to Ed and the RU6 crew for the activity. As mentioned in another mail, you RX may have enjoyed a small loop antenna much more than being connected to the giant vertical antenna. IMO it was a successful start, even more luck next time ... hw ? 73, Wolf DL4YHF/DF0WD www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/df0wd.html |
