GM - just saw your posting. Noticed you mentioned using a selective VTVM
also.
That is the route I am thinking of. I have a Sierra 121A (I think, from
memory) and
the manual that seems in good condx (got it at a hamfest). Only problem
is that
according to manual, the sensitivity is around 250uv and this more or
less puts it
in the category of "brain dead"
Now thinking along the lines that need something like a preamp to get
the lower
levels up to where the Sierra can hear it. Wonder if you've been up
against this
and how you solved it. If a preamp is the answer, where did you get it
(type,
model, how well it worked, etc) or if built, where you got the plans.
Would like
to use some kind of broadbanded one so not having to tune but that is
flexible.
Since I'm not on my computer, you can get me direct at

Tks for your time and advise.
