Hi all, I suppose you all know about this but as a bit of an inveterate DOS
hacker, it was a while before I found out how to delete messages in the
inbox without reading or displaying them in the review panel. It does entail
losing the messages either side, but I suppose they could be copied (note
copied, NOT Moved, or else the select bar will drop to the unwanted message,
which will then appear in the review window ) out to another folder so their
header stays in the list.
It goes like this:-
1. Read the files either side in the review panel
2. Select the file above the unwanted or suspect message
3. Move the cursor to the message below the suspect message and left-click
with the shift-button held down This selects all messages between the two
'clicked-on', but it only displays the message below the suspect message in
the review panel.
4. Press, or click DELETE
I use this for removing any suspect messages, junk-mail, and unsolicited
mail with attachments. After messages from Dave YMC, I also only use only
text messages, though HTML will display in the review window. One thing I
found to be a problem was updating Office, because it changed a lot of my
Outlook settings without informing me.
Probably old hat but might just be useful.
Cheers de Alan G3NYK
