My problem with Morse (I did use it once upon a time) is getting the words
down onto paper these days. After 15 years of using word processors for
everything, I've forgotton how to hand write fast enough...

Why write? Treat Morse as another language. I haven't taken QSOs verbatim(?)
for over 30 years, just the essentials - RST etc.

In any case, professional ROs used to take Morse at 27 words per minute on a
typewriter, so you ought to be able to use a keyboard for the purpose.

Give it a go anyway.
