My problem with Morse (I did use it once upon a time) is getting the words
down onto paper these days. After 15 years of using word processors for
everything, I've forgotton how to hand write fast enough - can't even do
joined up writing at 12 WPM now. I know this is a common occurance amongst
many computer users, it was featured in a TV prog. about it a month or so
ago !

Lets set the keyboard test at 20 WPM and make spelling [no using of F7 of
course] and correct English part of it too :-)

Hello,

Hi All
Since data modes are becomming the substitute for morse, why not replace
the morse test with keyboard skills, say a typing test of 12 wpm. Most
computer input data is entered via a keyboard.
Who could argue that was old hat and out of date!!!!!!!!! All the data
modes, Amtor. Ptor, Rtty, Gtor, Psk31, Pkt etc need keyboard
manipulation.
The only thing worse than a poor cw operator is someone fumbling on a
keyboard with 2 fingers!!!!!!!!!!

I have no problems with that when I do Slow CW QSOs ...
