Dave, LF, The other option is more power of course! If your antenna is inefficient due to low radiation resistance you need more current and if it's poor because of high environmental losses you need

Your static was obviously why you wre having difficulty trying to QSO G3UNT Mike. I was listening at the time, both excellent 589ish signals and way above my noise level and I heard you both repeated

With the back garden being only 45ft x 22ft radials, regardless of their number, are pretty ineffective on MF. Over the years I have tried all sorts of things, and there is quite a lot of wire buried
