some time ago the yahoo group was formed because of two problems: lack of
archives and problems getting mail from/to blacksheep. both are solved.
the problems in getting mail from/to blacksheep were usually due to the
mail provider's servers being misconfigured (not blacksheep's). i think
this is less of a problem now.
the first problem is solved too, the list has an unofficial archive here:

btw the archive dates from july 2014, if anyone has an archive of earlier
emails in mbox format, i'd be glad to add them to the archive.
i don't think there are any more valid reasons, apart from the fact that
that mailing lists are not "modern" (no shiny webpage that can dissapear
anytime the owner choses so).

course. Why aren't they
just happy with all the new advantages? What is going on into their minds that
they feel motivated
to destroy the group which other people still like? Coexistence unwanted?
Simple-minded, indeed.
