Hello Andy,
SlowJT9 does use the WSJT-X decoding engine (JT9.EXE).
JT9-2, JT9-5 and JT9-10 are resampled to JT9-1 and send to the JT9 decoder.
In the resampling process frequenties are multiplied:
- by 2.222 (15360/6912) for JT9-2
- by 5.926 (40960/6912) for JT9-5
- by 12 (82944/6912) for JT9-10
The maximum frequency the JT decoder can handle is 5kHz, so for JT9-2 the Fmax is reduced to 2250Hz for JT9-2, 843Hz for JT9-5 and 416Hz for JT9-10.
The lowest frequency for the JT9 decoder is given as 200Hz, but it is my experience that is also decodes well below 200Hz, so in practice the lowest frequency will be whatever is he low audio bandwidth limit for TX and RX (I would suggest to stay above 200Hz,
maybe even 300Hz).
