Hi Kumar,

yes often goods shipped from PRC are shipped as "private" postal pack and skip the standard custome procedures..

I don't know if it is a good idea to place the TX-RX close to the loading coil at the base of the antenna: coax losses are very low at MF/LF and loading coils, because of their high inductance (at least on LF), develop high voltage and high fields so I guess it is better to match the antenna and run the coax to the shack.
Depending on the ground properties you have to be faced on feedback in the audio cables feeding the PC so on these bands is probably better keep audio cables instead of antenna cables short! In these application probably you will enjoy those lossy ferrites you got :-)

I do agree with you: NOISE is the biggest problem city hams have to fight!
A lot a small devil boxes emitting low frequencies are around :-( and if nothing changed since I visited part of VU mains distribution is often made with aerial lines (I mean the low tension not the HV) and this allow easy pick-up and redistribution of electrical noise...
If you have fixed direction and frequency of noise sources a phase shift cancellation as you mentioned could help, but when working modes like wspr or low speed CW (QRSS) could be frustrating fight noise for 15-30 minutes.

But will not bore you any longer :-)) you will discover by yourself all those goodies and will try the best way to live with it! :-))

Hi Marko

I fully agree with some of the product from china .
I got a function Gen from Feeltech goes up to 60Mhz , idea was to use it as LF TX and LO for RX etc .\
It came thru the customs easily .  but  a smaller package with cables and tuner components from LZ I was charge 57 % .
now  find any thing non chinese is taxed heavily !!
Yes i will do and already have 8Inch dia  drain pipes  10 feet long for the Low band coils .!
The idea was to built the TX and RX also in the tubes and have only the AUdio in /out coming from the antenna base .
I built a 4 feet coil  with 6mm copper tubes for my 160m vertical will send you pics
so I am armed for the battle , now the biggest is the noise !!  The momenr i hear the first Stn I am on the next stage of Txmit .

Thanks for the fine encouragents

Dear Kumar,

it is a sad history.. it is a long time that here in EU (but I guess also elsewhere) we are dealing with incredible low prices of chinese products... sometime I read on e-bay or similar platforms goods offered to a price, included freight, lower of the shipping price alone (from Italy).
Some items are good or at least good enough for the purpose others lack for some feature..
It is an hard world! :-D
By the way concerning ferrites and iron dust cores properties will suggest to download a software called "mini ring core calculator" just google these four words and you get plenty of possible download.
The software provide calculation of inductance for cores made from Amidon, TDK and Ferrox.
The other longer way is to download catalogues or data sheets from the producers or from the web pages of sellers like digikey, mouser etc.

P.S. please do not use ferrite cores for the base loading coil of your (ex) top band vertical!! wind a large huge coil on suitable cores like pvc draining pipes.
Don't worry with 14m vertical and some top load the coil is not so big :-) - after all this will a training for 137 kHz winding, and if you will follow Stefan... for larger and larger loading coils for VLF!

We all hope to hear good news from you soon

Dear Clemens
Thanks for the kind suggestion I will look it up .
does any one have some kind of Material and equivalent table .

I find the post offices are charging  exorbitant duties , Yesterday i paid 57 %

while chinese goods come in easily with lower pricing !!
. I presume there would be some chinese companies making toroids .

Thanks again
Best regards
Kumar

You may have a look at
https://www.radio-store.co.uk/

They ship worldwidwe, sell also small quantities and have very competitive prices.
