Solar disturbances like the last one, almost comepletely wipe out DX
propagation from the
north / northwest and at the same time propagation from the south / south-east
/ southwest
improves.
The number of amateur signals at large distances from Europe at LF and MF are
small and this
phenomenon is less obvious. Observing utility stations, the pattern is clear.
Propagation is also quite directional. I received 12 impeccable decodes from
NAVTEX Miami,
whilst no other USA NAVTEX station turned up.
