Yes I'm aware that VLF records are like white lilies... Anyway I won't be envious, it's good to see the rapid progress in our playing field. > You're using earth dipoles at Amberg for orthogonal H? Yes. The DL0AO crew around Tom DK1IS and Bernd DF9RB have laid out two 150 m wires in the forest, pointing 265 and 355 degrees. Each is brought to the soundcards through CAT5 twinlead, using transformers to separate grounds at both ends of the cable. Unlike the active E-field probe, these are purely passive without preamplification. 1pps is superimposed on one of the RF inputs through another transformer. The site is fairly quiet as there are still no electric trains in that area. I have DL0A0 listed as 49.444444,11.848333 but that may be Amberg, not the antenna. > it looks like Dex and us are currently holding the > world record. Indeed yes. Enjoy the record while it lasts, they don't seem to stand for long before beaten. You're using earth dipoles at Amberg for orthogonal H? -- Paul Nicholson -- |
