Couldn't have come at a better time. It looks a lot better on the mod 360 version which I'm testing at the moment. S/N distinctly better on the new E-field rx compared with the loops. I've got to crack on with the H upgrade and I've made a start on the design changes. For example a change of input transformer ratio drops the system noise another dB by giving the LT1028 a source impedance closer to its optimum for noise figure. The response is extended to include 137 kHz too. I'm going to use the same filter, PSU, and line driver as the new E-field so no designing or testing to do there. -- Paul Nicholson -- |
