Thanks again Paul. That makes in interesting day night comparison: Even though the overnight message was 12 times longer, we didn't gain 11 dB but less than one dB.  So daytime seems to be much better between us, because at night the noise tends to increase much more than the signal.

I fixed a problem with the sferic blanker.

Now decodes 'DF6NM' with Eb/N0 = +1.0 dB,
carrier 15.53 dB in 390.6 uHz

The 13:42:40 now decodes too, Eb/N0 = +1.2dB
carrier 15.79 dB in 390.6 uHz.

Both with constant phase.

The overnight message came in at Eb/N0 +1.7dB
