sri, Stefan, I didnt excercise patience in the receive mode because I had to manage the TX antenna feeding problem.

now Im transmitting on 8269,900Hz, so the 8270Hz is free for Markus (?)

PS I have to lengthen the RX loop. seems the equipment as it is is deaf.

Hi VLF,

the carrier is still on the air. I will run it the whole day and maybe even tomorrow. Yes, unfortunately there was a phase reversal during the night arround 2 UTC. It doesn't matter to much for the spectrograms.
Uwe, what about your new RX, can you see the signal?

Since yesterrday afternoon, my VLF "6000" grabber has been augmented by phase-colour of Stefan's carrier, referenced to SpecLab's internal GPS-locked generator.. During the evening, the colour changed gradually from green to yellow, showing the expected nighttime phase retardation. However shortly after 2 UT, there occured a 180° jump trom yellow to blue, also obvious in the attached plot (green trace, 90°/div, 3 hours/div). I was wondering whether that might be an irregularity in my E.field antenna circuitry, but that would have messed up all the RDF spectrograms as well, which didn't happen. So maybe there was really a phase reversal at the transmitter?

Markus

Hi Stefan,

thanks for the invitation. Three stations simultaneusly on air would be cool, just like in the old days on 8970. My antenna is up, but today I'd rather make use of your strong carrier to observe the diurnal variation. Looks like we've already entered the midday minimum. Maybe I should set up another instance to observe the phase evolution as well.

There's also some directional variation in Todmorden: After 8 UT, your carrier is better at 90° azimuth but lacking at 130°.

Markus (DF6NM)

Hello Uwe,

Your signal looks nice on Pauls grabber.

Is the new ALU tower higer than the tree before? Did you ground it to
the VLF earth? Are you now getting more antenna current? How much?

Markus, will you join us on the 36 km band? :-) As far as i remember
there were never 3 amateur stations active on VLF to the same time :-)
