Thread-topic: LF: JT9 NOW

HI All

Concurring with others on here, great weekend, even though the XYL dragged me away last night and so I couldn't join in the real fun

I made 3 QSO's so not a huge haul but my first proper Dx QSO's on 474.

G3XIZ

G3KEV

DF1VB

XIZ tells me that others we're calling me but my Rx system was via the same ant/amp assembly as Tx and it's not optimised for Rx at all.  I got some strong stations  but they were 10dB or so down on where they are with WSPR so anyone who was around -20dB I couldn't pick up.   I'm setting up a separate RX system to over come this.

G7NKS approach tends to be "lash it up and hope for the best"!!!   That's why I'm not an engineer but a biochemist!

I'm still struggling to get to grips with driving JT9, it's a great software but my old "grey firmware" isn't what it was!!

I'm looking forward to the QRSS weekend at end of Nov and then CW in December.

A very kind friend and "Elmer" has built me a repalcement "interstage" amp to replace the one I blew up and so I can start back on my LF works too, pending the arrival from China of two new ones.

I managed to blow the input pi attenuator (the 150ohm resistor) nearest the SMA and I think that when that "went" it took the amp chip with it.  I replaced the chip resistors with carbon ones (ugly mess at the end!) but to no avail!

With best regards

Jim

GM LF,

It was a most interesting and enjoyable few days of MF JT9 activity.

I made 18 contacts with 14 stations:

DD2UJ

DF1VB  (2)

DF6NM

DG0RG (2)

DK2CH

DK6XY  (2)

DK7FC
DL3ZID

DL6II     (2)

G6AVK

G7NKS

IW4DXW

LA3EQ

ON5TA

I also spotted but never managed to work:

G3KEV

SV3DVO

YO21S

My apologies for the mistakes which I made but my entirely home brew station is quite complicated to use, especially when I'm tired - HI !

I'm looking forward to the forthcoming QRSS and CW activity periods and hope to work you all then.

No these were all bogus, some kind of problem that the pskreporter website was experiencing.  For some reason WH2XGP was displayed in guam instead of Washington State.  He indicates that he does not have PSKreporter enabled in his wsjtx program so it was some kind of bug.
