Yes and i can imagine that there can be phase instabilities in the received signals if a multi turn loop is used, because the wind can move (bend) the loop a bit and so the internal capacity and hence the resonance is slightly changing. With this copper tube it is all quite stable. No need to buy a 'commercial' antenna, just some basic stuff / components are needed.
