I've jsut added and FFT to the softawre for my LF receiver, and purely out of interest (and to test the software) have been recording the MSF time signal .
The attached plot is a 256 point FFT of the decimated receied waveform, reduced to a sampling rate of 0.98Hz (1000Hz / 1024) Bin size is 0.0038Hz, or equivlaent to about 4.3 minutes. It shows something I've never had to patience to try to observe before. One Hz sidebands are very strong, of course, but there should be a fine structure in its spectrum at one minute intervals, as the bulk of the digital waveform remains unchanged from one minute to the nexxt. And here they are - weak 0.0167Hz sidebands. Something I don't think I've ever seen before! If this paste gets thought the reflectors: Andy G4JNT |
