Some time ago I had similar problems with my aol account and one of
the groups I am a member of. We found that the solution was to set
up a gmail account that is only used for those groups and since then
I am no longer troubled. I found (with the advice of others) that it
was the least troublesome way. Trying to deal with aol is just too
much hassle.
