Hi Stefan,
30 watts from an audio amp is stepped up with a 1:4 ferrite xfmr.
One end of the secondary is grounded, the other goes to 2 pie
coils wound with 3 strands of 0.08mm wire, L~450 mH R(DC)=437
Can you send me/us a picture of the coil arrangement?
The 100m wire is about 12 m average height and the aerial current
is about 20mA, with a large uncertainty. 5 km is the best DX,
with about 10dB S/N at 3.3km.
10 dB in which bandwidth or mode? Is it CW or QRSS-3 or QRSS-120?
I recall Markus or you posted the maths for erp vs natural noise
on 8 kHz. A reminder would be most helpful!
It must have been Markus :-)
The 10k race was most gratifying even if I couldn't catch my
pretty little physiotherapist!
If i understand you correctly then i know what you mean and i can agree.
A few days ago i bough a climbing gear! I bought it so i can now safely
climb into my trees to mount another solar module (50Wp to south-west /
230 deg) there. It is for rising the availability of my remote receiver
setup... Great fun and a good sport!

R Joe, thanks.
Now, what is your setup on VLF? Are you using a 100m wire which you
are using for LF/MF as well?
What is the effective height and what is the antenna current? How do
you couple the TX to the wire and what is the output power?

Your VLF probe design works well -- but sadly the 36km photons
remain elusive.
