Thank you for the feedback from Japan! Gesashi may be the only remaining active Japanese Loran station.  But I'm pretty sure it is on air: along with two Korean stations in the GRI 9930 chain, it is being received both in Tasmania and in Germany every evening, with the expected propagation delay so the transmitter location must be correct:
Gesashi is no longer dual rated, it's other GRI 8930 has closed down a while ago, and so have Niijima, Tokachibuto, and Minami Torishima.

Hi Edgar, Markus

Old Gesashi (9930 X) was closed now.
I doubt if "Signal" would be caused by somewhat other
than actual Loran-C.
