Appears W4DEX is getting into Texas on 8971.1 Hz with a daytime S/N of around 12dB in 46uHz. Yesterday we got http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/w4dex_140603b.gif from the VLF natural radio receiver at Hawley 32.658N,99.844W run by Kevin Palivec. Range to Hawley is 1816 km bearing 266 degrees from W4DEX. This is an overland and westerly path (crossing 27 deg of geomagnetic longitude) so that really is a nice result. Last night W4DEX reached 15 dB S/N in 46 uHz at Todmorden http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/w4dex_140603a.gif -- Paul Nicholson -- |
