very well, you are a keen observer! Yes I'm aware of the 2nd order intermodulation, happening in the low current BCY58 preamp stages which are powered by a DC level present at the notebook's microphone input. There's also a strong 9 kHz beat from AM broadcast carriers. I'll need to provide some lowpass filtering at the input.

Compared to the E-field antenna, the loops seem to pick up a lot of 50 Hz harmonics from adjacent underground cables, but apparently less of the 16.7 Hz modulated junk from the railway line.

14 kc (down-mixed/folded) 

and  

9.9 kc (intermod DCF49/DCF39)?
