Sliding as the paper tape of a Morse receiver... :)

You can send a beacon in QRSS 10... (for example)

OK, Martyn, will do.

You might consider running WSPR2 if you can't get any QSOs!

Good luck & 73

Thanks for response Dave;
I'm not subscribed to the RSGB Blacksheep reflector - any chance you could copy the msg for me onto it ?
I've included a high value R across the ATU input, so I hope that discharges the static, which can be a problem at times.
Bigger problem I suspect is the very low activity on 472. Last year only worked GI3PDN and had one-way with G3XIZ. The local MW TX does produce some hash - but not too much. It's about half a mile away.

Hi, Martyn.

The Marconi Day sounds interesting - I know the area around Tywyn, Fairbourne and Barmouth quite well, but I didn't realize there was a Marconi connection. If you can, you should also post an announcement on the RSGB Blacksheep reflector, which is where a lot of MF enthusiasts lurk.

You might also consider taking along a loop antenna for reception, in case the kite antenna picks up too much QRM/QRN. Isn't there a Broadcast station in the vicinity?

GA
Just joined this LF group to have a plug for Telford & DARS Int. Marconi Day annual visit to Tywyn in Gwynedd, west Wales, site of the Marconi receive station MUV 1913-23..
Would welcome any skeds leading to QSOs. Callsign GB8MD
CW around 474 KHz, kite antenna (weather permitting - otherwise long, low wire...) from about 10:00z until about 17:00z.
Loc: IO72XN, WAB SH50. Or take a look at genuine Marconi Cottages by our /P site using postcode LL36 9HN on Google street or satellite views.
TX about 25 watts (GW3UEP design), CW. Receiver converter & HF rig.
Skeds via HF GB8MD station, or phone me on 07932 927887 during Saturday.
Active most HF bands all day Saturday, but no fixed programme or schedule.
Please let anyone who is QRV on 472KHz know about this activity. Last year I had 1.5 QSOs, so hope to improve on that.
