Hi Domenico and all,
Here is already one problem discovered, but that doesn't have
anything to do with WSQ itself:
It's the media player (VLC) which I used to play back your
recording.
Here, the recording is analysed by two decoders (with slightly
different settings) running side-by-side. In the spectrogram near
1100 Hz you can see how the constant-frequency "carrier" (local or
distant QRM, I don't know) suddenly makes a "S-curve" because the
player slightly changes its resampling ratio. No suprise the
result from the recording is worse than during our QSO:
Will be interesting to compare this with a built-in wave file
analyser, which I will now integrate in WSQ .
At least the 'bent worms' will turn into thin vertical lines again
;o)
About improving the core decoder algorithm : A bit too early.
First I need to understand how every bit and piece in it works...

Ok Wolf.
Thanks to you for the test and for your efforts on improving
WSQ. I'm shure you will fix it.
Let me know if you need further helps.
Again tu and have good w.e.
Good night to all.

Hi Domenico,
Thanks for the WSQ QSO and for testing.
Signal just went down below the "red line" which is nice for
testing.
I have a lot of recordings now which I can play into the
decoder, over and over again.

Yes, I can imagine !

Ok ... But that may be a problem with the sampling rate. I had
the same problem with Rik recently, using the original
software both ends.

Hi Wolf, all
Ok i can be qrv WSQ on dial 477. 3 kHz within 15 min. Is
it ok?
Thanks

Greetings all,
If someone else is going to try WSQ tonight or tomorrow,
please announce
here, including the frequency - ideally an hour before
starting.
I'd like to make a few audio recordings with 'real on-air
signals' with
greatly different SNRs, for software testing.
