Its  simples

One  system decodes  data  and the  system other  produces  data

Its  up to the  beholder to  decide  as to  which is real  and which is  imaginary

Steinar,

yes and no ;-)

Yes, in the sense that Opds is an independent development, and doesn't use Opera's program code or web reporting system.

No, in that without the original idea and work from EA5HVK, there would be no Opera mode, and no deep search either.

Opds is not meant to be a functional replacement of Opera software. It is a different approach (coherent correlation) to achieve different aims. There are benefits (like good detection sensitivity, open source code), and disadvantages (like no decoding of a-priori unknown sequences).

For transmitting, I had made my own code generator df6nm.bplaced.net/opera/opera_generator.zip based on a publication from PE1NNZ, and a conversion tool which produces a band-limited IQ .dat file which can be played by SndOutpt: df6nm.bplaced.net/opera/optxtdat.zip .

Hi Steinar

Yes - it uses a combination of Spectrum Laboratory and software by Markus
DF6NM. This can be obtained from the link shown and contains set-up
instructions. No connection to the internet is required to run it therefore
it doesn't send internet reports anywhere. If you want to share results you
can automatically post to your own Dropbox.

It is only a receive system - Opera signals must be generated using the ROS
software or a PIC-based generator.

I'm sure Markus will give more detailed info.
