Hi Edgar interestingly enough Orford UK is just about 10 miles from me.
 
On the lightning topic. You my not have come across it but there is facility in Spectrum Lab that Wolf inserted for CT1DRP and me to remove lightning effects from the captured signal strength plot. It compares the current sample with the last one and only keeps the lowest. Provided your sample rate is long enough to allow the effect of "stretching" in narrow filters (a few seconds) this is very effective at removing lightning "crash" effects from the trace.
